The mayor of Pamplona, Joseba Asirón, expressed his satisfaction with the participation of those who enjoyed Sanfermines and the coordination between institutions and different groups.
During the “Octava” or Octave , last religious act of Sanfermines, the future parish priest of the Church of San Lorenzo, Javier Leoz, had harsh words for the sexist verbal aggressions that happened during this years fiesta.
The number of injuries that occured during the “encierro” increased in 2016 but were less serious than in 2015.
It seems impossible, but Sanfermines comes to a sad ending tonight, July 14. It´s a day for saying good-bye to the Giants and their entourage, the last encierro, held this morning, the last bullfight in the afternoon and to all the friends you see only once a year during the fiesta.
Everyone in Pamplona waits for the Miuras with something close to worship because the bulls are very, very big. The very small bullfighter, Ruíz Miguel used to always fight them in Sanfermines, and he couldn´t even reach their teeth. Today, the last “encierro”, was a fairly clean run with only a few minutes of tension at the entrance to the ring.
