Garcigrande Bulls “Dashing All the Way” –with Two gored in Today´s Encierro

In only two minutes and 12 seconds, the fastest encierro so far this year, bulls from Garcigrande single-mindedly ran the route, but not without leaving behind two gored men. One participant was gored in the leg in the Mercaderes stretch and the other, in the abdomen in the stretch of Espoz y Mina. A third runner was taken to the Hospital Complex of Navarra for a contusion in one leg in Santo Domingo. A fourth man was attended by healthcare experts for a cranial traumatism in Estafeta.

In the seventh encierro of July 13, there were far fewer runners than on the weekend and previous days. In spite of this, many fell with moments of real danger for those waiting for the unique experience of running in front of the bulls. The herd stayed together in Santo Domingo until a black bull took the lead at the end of this section. In Mercaderes, a bull hesitated, causing real danger to those around him. At the curve of Estafeta, several animals crashed into the barricades, and at the beginning of this street, one bull fell to the ground, stumbling over a runner. Many of the falls occurred in Estafeta, and at the entrance to the ring the herd had separated into two groups.

This is the second time Garcigrande bulls have come to Sanfermines, the last being in 2014, when they also gored two runners, both in the slope of Santo Domingo, and entered the ring in two minutes and a half.
