The “Chupinazo” can be seen on five giant screens
The “Chupinazo” ,or the beginning boom of Sanfermines 2013, can be watched from five giant screens, set up by the Town Hall of Pamplona. They are located in the Plaza del Castillo, the Paseo de Sarasate, the Plaza de los Fueros, Antoniutti Park and on Carlos III Street. It can also be seen on Television Española.
Today, July 6, at noon, the plaza in front of the Town Hall will be full to the brim and spilling out into the side streets with revelers, waiting for Eduardo Vall, a representative of the municipal socialist pary to step out onto a balcony of the Town Hall and light a fuse that sends a rocket bursting into the air. Vall will be accompanied by a guest from the ONCE, a group that helps the blind and is celebrating its 75 anniversary.
For the third straight year, the Town Hall has prohibited attending the act of the chupinazo with any glass bottles o objects of glass. Among other prohibited items are poles, banners, flags, eggs and balloons filled with paint.
The Town Hall is promoting the haghtag sanfermines and sf13 for comments on the fiesta and what is happening from minute to minute on Facebook and Twitter.
