Thousands pay respects to San Fermín in yesterday,s procession

July 7 is San Fermín´s day, and yesterday thousands walked with his image through the streets of the Old Part of Pamplona. He received kisses, some tears and “cánticos” or special songs sung in his honor. On the other hand, the politicians, who also form a part of this traditional walk were not so lucky. They were booed and had to listen to a series of insults in Curia street.

Shortly before 10 in the morning, the Giants and their entourage accompanied the municipal corporation in formal dress to the Cathedral and its officials. With bells ringing, the group, led by the youngest councilman of NaBai, Aritz Romero, continued on to the the church of San Lorenzo where San Fermín was waiting.

From the church, the Procession followed its traditional route through the Old Part of Pamplona with thousands dressed in red and white and with love for Pamplona´s Saint.
