First Top Award in the Bullfights of Sanfermines – July 11
When bullfighters are carried out of the ring on the shoulders of their fans through a huge door, normally closed, it means that the matador has been awarded the top award. The door is called la “Puerta Grande”.
The Torrestrella bulls awarded the spectators on July 11 with the first bullfighter, David Mora, of Sanfermines 2013 to be carried through the Puerta Grande. David Mora received an ear in both of his bulls as well. Francisco Marco had worse luck although he was awarded an ear. Ivan Fandiño, after the bullfight, had to be taken to the hospital due to a blow from one of his bulls.
Bull Ranch: Six bulls of the Torrestrella ranch – good presentation. Good bulls except for the fifth who lacked force.
- Francisco Marco – silence and one ear
- Iván Fandiño – applause in both bulls
- David Mora – an ear in both bulls and carried through the Puerta Grande on shoulders of fans.
President: Iñaki Cabasés, accompanied by Nuria Crespo and Josetxo Gimeno – correct.
