The Town Hall of Pamplona Rejects Sexist Aggression
The Town Hall of Pamplona has approved a Statement in which it reaffirms not only its rejection of all types of sexist aggression during Sanfermines but also its commitment to eliminate all sexist aggression and reinforce a coordinated response when this type of violence occurs.
In addition, the Statement urges the population of Pamplona to continue demonstrating an active attitude against sexist aggression that in no way is excused by its taking place in a fiesta or by customs. The Town Hall is committed to working towards having fiestas in which men and women can enjoy themselves in an atmosphere of equality and safety. Women and men are also encouraged to share housework and care of family so that everyone can take part in the fiesta equally.
The Town Hall supports and collaborates with the Grupo Sanfermines in Equality, the Consejo Municipal de la Mujer and the feminist movement that actively works towards eradicating sexist aggressions.
