The International Press Office of Navarra – 15 Years of Service during Sanfermines
The International Press Office of Navarra (OIP) is celebrating its 15th year of service to journalists from around the world during the fiesta of Sanfermines. The numbers speak for themselves: 685 accreditations have been given to 139 communicators from 20 countries in 2015. The OIP has been helping journalists during Sanfermines since its beginnings in the year 2000 and is made possible by agreements among the Association of Journalists of Navarra, the government of Navarra and the town hall of Navarra.
The majority of these journalists and photo journalists are most interested in the running of the bulls or the “Encierro” with 429 accreditations given out. The “Chupinazo” – 161 professionals from 45 communication organizations. The final act, the “Pobre de Mí” – 95 people accredited from 37 communication organizations. Sanfermines 2015 has given accreditations to 42 professionals from 19 foreign countries: the United States, Eslovenia, the United Kingdom, Turkey, France, Mexico, Belorussia, the Republic of Korea, Holland, Germany, Pakistan, Italy, Portugal, Colombia, Sweden, Canada, Poland, the Czech Republic and Russia.
Spanish media has increased to 97 with 35 of those from outside Navarra.
Yesterday in a press conference held at the OIP, located in the Baluarte building, the government councilor and second vice-president of Culture, Tourism and Institutional Relations, Juan Luis Sánchez de Munián; The Town Hall councilor of Education and Culture in Pamplona, Maider Beloki; Comunication specialist of the Baluarte, Esperanza Soroa; the manager of the commercial center, Itaroa, Patxi Biurrun and Miguel Ángel Barón, president of the Association of Journalists of Navarra expressed their appreciation of the work carried out by the OIP.
The OIP will be open from 10 to 14 hours until July 4. From 10 to 17 hours on July 5 and 6 and from 7:45 to 17 hours from July 7 to July 14. On the OIP team are journalists Idoia Andueza, Celia Bustamante, Andrés García de la Riva, Patricia Huércanos, Lucinda Poole and Fátima Ruíz.
